Final Final

I really like the idea of exploring truck stops, rest stops and gas stations for this final. I'm still unsure what I actually want to do, but these pictures are really doing it for me! I love the fog!
My original idea for my final is not sounding so great to me (close up study of objects that have meaning to me) I think i might explore this idea some more. When I look at these pictures I think of road trips with my family, driving to colorado in two days, we would have to wake up before the sun had even come up. Fog seemed to always accompany these early morning drives so most of our bathroom breaks and breakfast/lunch stops would be shrouded in fog.

Concept to Critical Mass Project

My idea behind my critical mass book that I constructed was to go out with my camera in search of patterns and repetition as well as images that remind me of my childhood or at least appeal to my inner child! It was interesting going out and shooting because I was not insearch of that one perfect image that I would later focus all of my energy on, I was just taking pictures here and there to get a uniform group. I knew that all the images would be compiled together in a book so i chose to focus on patterns and repetition knowing it would make the pictures flow nicely from page to page.
Over all, I was very pleased with how my book turned out, I was able to group images such as toys, nature, candy and buildings together in odd little sections to make an interesting group all together.

Book Project

For this next project, it will be a little bit harder to see here because the final product will actually be a book. I will do my best to take pictures of it and show it off here, but obviously holding the book will be better than just looking at pictures of it. I took pictures this weekend for it, the goal was to take pictures of things that would look good as smaller laser jet printed/black and white image. That means I wanted to put more emphasis on details and singular subjects rather than landscapes or complicated imagery. Today was the first work day for the project so I was able to edit up a few pictures and here are some of the highlights.

NOT for Digital Photography

This is sooo not for digital photography, but its made from a picture i took! This is my project for my digital print media class and I'm proud of how it turned out so I'm sharing it!
The assignment was to create a logo out of your face and incorporate some image that you like or that has significance to you. I picked the hot air balloon because it just rocks and I think they are so beautiful and serene.
wow, this looks a lot creepier than I had planned, but that's ok, I'm done!

HELP
This is my final due tmro and I am STUCK, the first one is my friend Tyler as a teletubby and I think that it tells a story and is more interesting and easy to look at. Yet the second one has so much more work put into it and it is blended and has many layers. Which should I go with, the one that looks better and has some humor to it, or the one that has so much more to it and maybe looks too busy.

The requirements for this project are posed below and technically I need to include 8 layers, which both of these have and it needs to have something to do with a map.
The story behind the second one may make everything easier to understand, it was an adventure I took out on a beautiful day to explore the area near the greenhill human society and I found myself stopping to play with kittens and break into an abandoned gas station.

This is another one that I'm working on. DAMN this is HARD!
PLEASE LEAVE ME A MESSAGE, HELP

My favs!
Do you know what is missing from my blog?
Comments from my Grandma Alice! A project is not a project unless you have input from your grandma who has had to rescue you when you get your tongue stuck to a puddingpop.
